Those in the know, please help me update this list. I brought this back onto the main forum, so everyone could see it's going forward and might chime in to help in some way. It's a worthy cause. Brock could you give me a call at your convenience, 479 970-0077 Bruce Bob Cefalu donated the Back and sides, Lance Kragenbrink bent them and glued one end, Paul Woolson glued in the other block, then glued up the back and sent it to me. I, Bruce Dickey, furnished the Sitka top and braced it with Adirondack. I also put in Dave Rector's abalone rosette and joined the top to the guitar. Brock Poling did the binding, mitered the side purflingss and purfled top and back. Brock was there any of the $100 left that I sent along from others? George Armstrong donated an Access Stage 5 case and Ameritage donated a custom built case. Michael offered to buy the Access Stage 5 Case. I believe Hank Mauel was supposed to fret the guitar, but with it leaving the area? I don't know now. John Watkins offered to work the neck a while back, but didn't get further instructions or the guitar to work on. So at this point, we need a Facilitator, a Finisher, and a person to do Final setup. |

Thanks to John Watkins who is in line to do the neck on the OLF 2 Guitar Project. John How said he'd get it out in the next couple days. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this an OLF SJ model and are there any plans accompanying the guitar? Are these the plans drawn up by Michael Payne? I think they are. Okay, I'm outta here and headed to the buffer myself. Have a great day/night wherever you are. |

Bruce, Yes I believe there was a set of plans floating with the guitar originally. That said, the plan was that John How was going to use his neck design (bolt down FB extenion) so after the body there was no need to the plans. Now That it will be a Watkins neck I am not sure how the FB will attach, Glue or bolt. On an other thought you might want to contact Tony to see if he will donate a finish to this guitar. Lance will have contact info. |

I donated the Ebony fingerboard (purchased from and shipped from Bob Cefalu.) I'm just not experienced enough to offer my services as a luthier, or I would have jumped in deeper. Dennis |

Yes, I'm on for fretting. Presume it will be done after finish and neck attached, but prior to bridge install and final set up. |

Hank for Fret Job, got it. Dennis Leahy furnished the ebony fretboard. Thanks Michael for the info. Maybe John How can drop in a set of his plans that show the neck setup? That is all very fuzzy to me. I bet it will be pretty plain to John Watkins, what to do, once he gets it. Okay, it looks like we need a finisher and a final setup person. Applications below this post.... ![]() |

Thanks George. I was amazed at your generosity to this effort. Over the top. Thanks for reminding me that you did. I have yet to go back through all the old posts to credit one and all who've been involved. That's next on my plate as far as this project goes. Thanks to everyone, and feel free to remind me in this thread. I know there was one generous person who sent paypal cash for shipping but preferred anonymity. Just a word as to the eventual recipient: He is a longtime force in the guitar world. He recently experienced life-threatening medical condition and came through the surgery and recovery period. And since this gift guitar is supposed to remain a surprise from all of us at the OLF, he will remain un-named as requested. Thanks again George for your gift. Now I have to find a bridge, ebony or brazilian? Brazilian would probably require matching the headstock plate as well. I'm all ears. ![]() |
